Becoming a volunteer for Ashmere is simple. However, you must be 16 or over to volunteer at Ashmere due to the vulnerable nature of our residents.
Download the volunteer application form which is quick and easy to fill in and post it to us at:
Ashmere Notts, Priestsic Road, Sutton-In-Ashfield, NG17 2AH
After we’ve read through your details, we’ll get the ball rolling to find an ideal opportunity for you.
Step by step
- Once your volunteer application form is in, we’ll contact you to arrange a time to meet for an informal interview to chat about volunteer roles and to fill in a CRB form. To complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) form, we will need you to bring in 3 of the following identification: birth certificate, passport, driving licence (both paper & card parts), a utility bill less than 3 months old or a bank statement less than 3 months old. All volunteers are expected to fill in a CRB form before they can begin to volunteer for us due to the vulnerable nature of our residents.
- We will send off your CRB form & references. It can take up to 6 weeks to receive a CRB Check back.
- Once we receive your CRB check and references back, we will contact you to arrange for you to come in to do an induction of the home. The induction will take an hour and will go through health & safety, fire checks as well as introduce you to members of staff and the residents. You will be introduced to a member of staff who will be your main contact point when you visit the home to volunteer just incase you need some extra support.
- When you’ve completed your induction, you’re all set to begin volunteering!
